Select Event Hire Ltd. Terms & Conditions are outlined below.

Charges

  • The basic hire charge is based on a three day period, covering supply on one working day, use on the next day and return on the third working day. If the hire is for use on a weekend, the hire period would be from Friday to Monday.
  • The hire charge includes cleaning but all items (excluding linen) must be rinsed and free from surplus food and debris. Failure to do so may result in a wash-up charge.
  • All hire charges are subject to V.A.T. at the current rate of 23%.
  • Discounts are not applicable to disposables, linen or delivery charges.

Bookings & Cancellations

  • It is advisable to book your hire as early as possible to ensure availability. This is especially for the summer and Christmas seasons.
  • We are happy to accept amendments to your order up to 48 hours prior to delivery but try to give as much notice as possible. Any amendments to existing orders less than 48 hours prior to delivery or collection are subject to availability.
  • All online bookings require 2 working days’ notice. This is to ensure stock availability.

Linen Hire

  • The hire charge includes laundering.
  • Linen should be returned free from all debris & kept dry as mould causes irretrievable damage.
  • All linen damaged by fire, stains, mould & tears will be charged to you at the full replacement value.

Electrical Goods

  • Electrical items not working must be reported immediately to Select Hire and not touched.
  • Please ensure your power supply can maintain the voltage required by equipment hired by you. A list is available from our office. We strongly recommend the use of RCD circuit breakers on all hired items that are used outdoors.

Delivery & Collection

  • Should delivery and or collection by Select Hire there will be at an additional cost.
  • The charge covers delivery/collection to ground floor sites and to within a short distance from the delivery vehicle. However we reserve the right to adjust the charges should the delivery be deemed as difficult or unreasonable.
  • Delivery/Collection dates are subject to availability and may be adjustd post online confirmation.
  • It is not always possible to deliver your order at a specific time as Select Hire vehicles will follow a pre-determined route; we will endeavour to meet your requested time.
  • Any deficiencies or damage in transit must be reported to Select Hire within four hours of delivery.
  • Items for return must be available on the appointed time and date for collection –tables should be folded down, chairs should be folded down or stacked and all other equipment should be placed in their respective containers.
  • A further charge may be levied if a return collection is required or if items are not placed in their original containers.
  • It is the hirer’s responsibility to gain adequate insurance cover for the hired items during the hire period.

Payment

  • On confirmation of the order, credit/debit card details are required to secure the order and payment will be taken from this card .Please note should losses or breakages also incur your card will be charged at the rate listed on delivery docket.
  • Further to this we ask for a deposit against loss or damage which is refundable on return, less the cost of replacement if applicable.
  • Proof of identity may be requested on larger hires .Please produce a driving license and a recent utility bill for security purposes.
  • We accept Credit /debit card. Cash & cheques are accepted supported by the appropriate cards. We also accept electronic payments direct to our bank account (please ask for details).
  • Should you wish to use our services on a regular basis, we can open monthly credit facility subject to usage and we reserve the right to request trade references.

Lost & Damaged Goods

  • Any goods lost or damaged will be charged to you at the full replacement rate. If a lost item is subsequently found it can be returned to us within two weeks after the hire for a refund of the replacement charges.
  • If for any reason you are unable to check quantities with our staff it is a condition of supply in the absence of definite proof to the contrary; our count is final as to both count and condition.

Privacy & Security

  • Your privacy and security is of the greatest importance at Select Hire and we want you to feel totally confident in using this site. If booking online, your details and particularly your payment details are securely held. Select Hire will never share your personal information with any third party companies. The information that you supply us with will only be used for the purpose for which it was intended. In order to serve you most efficiently, reputable third-party banking (including PayPal) and distribution institutions handle our credit card transactions and order fulfilment. They receive the information needed to verify and authorise your payment card and to process your order. All such organisations are under strict obligation to keep your personal information private.
  • By accessing this site, certain information about the your time spent on our site, such as your Internet protocol (IP) addresses, navigation through the site, the software used and the time spent, along with other similar information, will be stored on Select Hire servers. This data does not specifically identify you, and the information is used internally only for web site traffic analysis. If you provide unique identifying information, such as name, address and other information on forms stored on this Site, such information will be used only for statistical purposes and will not be published for general access.
